EVdeals has begun publishing the results of controlled dynamometer testing
of major scooter brands on this site in February 2001! To my know-
ledge, this is the first such test data made available on the Web. Direct 
performance comparisons will be possible across brands and models without
subjective interpretation or riding styles coloring the results. 

Charts and graphs recording top speed, hill climbing ability, maximum
range, full speed range, noise level, duration of ride, and average speed will
be presented. In addition, technical parameters such as effects of battery
charge state, temperature, gear ratio changes, tire pressure/type, and other
useful information will be made available as testing proceeds.

 

Simulated riding conditions for ALL tests are as follows:
                            (Unless otherwise specified)

1) 165 lb. rider weight
2)  Level, paved surface
3)  No wind
4)  Tire pressure-manufacturers spec.
5)  Full charge with standard charger
6)  Battery at 70 deg F for final test
7)  Range test cut-off -  75% of speed after  5 minutes.
8)  First 3 tests provide battery conditioning only
9)  Full speed throttle setting
